Blog: Where to Catch a Game (in Luxury) in Miami
Posted 12.22.2024If you consider yourself a fair-weather sports fan, then Miami’s climate probably suits you well. Moving into your new bayfront condo at Missoni Baia places you near some of the world’s best athletes and sports franchises. The Magic City is home to four major sports teams—and if you can’t name a single one, don’t worry; we’re about to introduce them. Not only are the stadiums a short drive from Missoni Baia, but they also offer luxurious extras for the sports fan who likes to enjoy the game in comfort. Pom-poms at the ready as we tell you where to catch the hottest sporting events near Missoni Baia.
The Heat
Before heading to the American Airlines Arena, make sure you’ve got a reservation at nearby Toro Toro; here, South and Central American dishes get a unique twist. Think wild mushroom coca flatbread with goat’s cheese, or chipotle miso Chilean sea bass. Cocktails like the Machu Picchu (a blend of pisco, lime, and jalapeno) are sure to drown your sorrows if the Heat doesn’t perform well that night. But, although this is the post-Dwyane Wade era, this team shows no sign of flagging; raise a glass to more Heat successes like their 2016 division title.
The Marlins
Just as no one would want to be on the end of an actual marlin, so the Miami Marlins’ competitors fear this city’s finest baseball team. Make the short drive from your Miami luxury residence to brand-new Marlins Park and revel in watching a team that has twice won the World Series in just twenty years of existence. While cheering on the likes of feared slugger (and probable superhuman) Giancarlo Stanton in the Miami sunshine, you may want to treat yourself to more than the average hotdog and beer. Check into the Ricoh Diamond Club for plush cushioned seating and high-end dining. The first row is situated 47 feet from home plate. Home run.
The Dolphins
If football is more your speed, the Miami Dolphins have you covered. Book yourself a single game suite, and you’ll get a preferred parking pass and food and drink credit. Or, why not go one better and score premium seating at 72 Club (food and drink included)? Check. Complimentary in-seat service? Check. 11 inches of extra legroom? Check! If someone else is driving, order yourself a Blue Dolphin cocktail, made with Malibu spiced rum and Blue Curacao liqueur (that packs a punch akin to the Miami Dolphins’ offense). The upcoming season is promising, as head coach Adam Gase’s squad seem to have what it takes to repeat a trip to the playoffs, like they did in 2016.
The Hurricanes
The Hard Rock Stadium is but a 20-minute drive from the East Edgewater condos at Missoni Baia. That puts you well within reach of the Miami Dolphins, and it’s also home to the D1 powerhouse Miami Hurricanes. Starting in September, they’ll face stiff competition from the likes of Toledo, Georgia Tech, and Notre Dame. May we suggest a stiff pregame drink at The Bend Liquor Lounge, a neat wood-paneled speakeasy, where they’ll happily shake you a classic cocktail? After one of those, it’s game on.
